This collection has not yet been processed fully, and no finding aid is available. Coverlet weaver David Bender was active in Johnson County, Iowa, ca. 1845-1874. Collection consists of a daybook, a pattern book, two photocopies of photographic portraits of David Bender and his family and one photocopy of a photo of a coverlet owned by the Museum of International Folk Art. Daybook records accounts dated 1846. Pattern book contains weaving drafts as well as colored ink drawings of weaving patterns (draw downs) and designs with their names.
