Description
Nellie Randlemon quilting a Double Wedding Ring top pieced by her mother, Maude Brown Austin. AR.00027: Traditional Quilt Makers in New Mexico Survey Project. FIELD NOTES: Nellie is currently working on quilting a Double Wedding Ring pattern that her mother pieced. It has pink background and blue ovals. She shows us that it is difficult to quilt because the piecing is uneven, but she thinks it will look all right on the bed. Nellie will give it to her granddaughter when it is finished. She did most of the quilting on her big frame, but wanted to take the from [frame?] down, so she took it off, bound it, + is finishing the center quilting on a hoop.
