Statement
Working my way through school as a sign painting artist (before computers took over lettering and sign painting), I graduated from University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, with a BFA in Painting. I went on to work commercially as a billboard outdoor advertising mural artist and honed my visual color mixing skills. After graduation I taught college painting and drawing classes. Concurrently, I designed, manufactured and sold my signature line of ceramic art tiles through Ann Sacks Tile & Stone along with smaller specialty tile stores and then big box retailers like Home Depot. I illustrated children’s books, wrote an art instructional book titled, Paint Happy, licensed my art interior design images as decor items and painted images exhibited in museums and galleries. It’s been fun. [Retrieved on 8/23/2017 from https://www.cristinaacosta.com/cristina-acosta/]
